Gender Equality at Kimpur

Gender equality is a fundamental human right and one of our key priorities. To promote fair participation of women in the workforce, we have integrated gender equality into our sustainability goals. We believe that gender equality is achievable for everyone, and we are committed to empowering both women and men in all areas of life.

By embedding the principle of equal representation in all our human resources policies and procedures, we ensure greater representation of women in leadership positions. Taking individual needs into account, we implement special training and development programs for women leaders, helping them enhance their leadership competencies.

As a company where approximately 39% of our white-collar workforce consists of women, we take pride in working under the leadership of a female CEO. By ensuring equal rights for women and men throughout every stage of employment—from hiring to retirement—we aim to promote gender equality both in society and in professional life. Our efforts focus on fostering awareness, supporting women throughout their careers, increasing women’s employment rates, and ensuring gender equality in leadership by enhancing women’s roles in decision-making processes.

With our “Equality in Every Aspect of Life” approach, we place diversity and inclusivity at the center of our mission. Under the leadership of senior management, in collaboration with the Human Resources Directorate and the Ethics Committee, we are building our workplace culture step by step.

Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right but also one of the cornerstones of sustainable development. At Kimpur, we are committed to supporting Goal 5 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 5): Gender Equality.

At Kimpur, we value gender equality in every aspect of life and recognize it as a fundamental part of our corporate culture. We are honored to share that we are a proud signatory of the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs).

The 7 Core Principles of WEPs:

  1. Ensure gender equality through high-level corporate leadership.
  2. Treat all women and men fairly in the workplace, with respect for human rights and a commitment to non-discrimination.
  3. Provide health, safety, and well-being for all employees, regardless of gender.
  4. Support women’s access to education, training, and professional development.
  5. Empower women through entrepreneurship, supply chain, and marketing practices.
  6. Advocate for gender equality through community and public initiatives.
  7. Evaluate achievements in gender equality and report them transparently to the public.

We are proud to participate in the Business Against Domestic Violence (BADV) Project in collaboration with the Sabancı University Corporate Governance Forum. Acknowledging that violence is a fundamental issue of human rights, equality, and justice, we are committed to taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety of our employees, their families, and every individual in society.

As a participant in the BADV Project, we are committed to providing a workplace environment that opposes all forms of domestic violence. By sharing this policy, we aim to raise awareness in society and contribute to the prevention of domestic violence.

Through the Avita Employee Assistance Program, we offer Psychological Counseling, Legal Consultation, and a Confidential Support Line for our employees and their families, ensuring these services are provided with a strict focus on confidentiality.

At Kimpur, we prioritize innovation, equality, and creativity in our operations and strive to cultivate a corporate culture that promotes diversity and inclusivity. As part of this effort, we use the Inclusive Language Glossary to avoid gendered expressions rooted in traditional language and to support equality in every aspect of life.

As part of our efforts to enhance gender equality in workplace communication, we have introduced a Auto-Correction Tool. Operating under the principle “Gender Equality Starts with Language,” this tool, integrated into all office programs, flags gender-biased language and suggests appropriate alternatives, enabling better self-monitoring.

Our company, committed to promoting gender equality among all employees and supporting our women employees throughout their careers, organized a gender equality-focused training on March 8, International Women’s Day. This training aimed to guide our women employees on managing the roles and challenges they encounter in both their professional and personal lives.

During the event titled “The Woman’s Role Conflict” led by an expert psychologist, we focused on raising awareness among our women employees about the different roles they navigate, such as being a professional, a partner, and a mother. Through such initiatives, we will continue contributing to the empowerment of women and their access to equal opportunities.

In an effort to support women in need and encourage their participation in economic and social life, we make a meaningful gesture by gifting products made by women producers to our employees on March 8, International Women’s Day. This initiative goes beyond simply purchasing products, as it also reflects our commitment to gender equality, women’s empowerment, and sustainable development goals.

We prioritize handcrafted goods produced by local women entrepreneurs and artisans. Through this, we not only help these women achieve economic independence but also provide our employees with unique, high-quality products while stimulating the local economy.

Every item we purchase symbolizes more than just a product; it carries a story, a struggle, and a hope. Our employees feel a sense of pride and purpose, knowing that by embracing these products, they are supporting women’s workforce participation. We aim to strengthen our social responsibility values and make a positive impact on society. Together, we’re building an ever-growing, supportive community.
