Sustainable, Eco-Friendly and Value-Added Products

We are aware that the resources in the environment and nature are exhaustible. Therefore we focus on using our resources with rational approaches and we support social development and economic growth that will bring prosperity to societies without harming the environment.

We contribute to our nature and circular economy by adding sustainable resources to our product life cycle.

1. Polyester Polyol Synthesis from PET Bottle Wastes and Commercial Use in Polyurethane Systems

Our Kimpur R&D Footwear Team synthesized polyester polyol from PET bottle waste and succeeded in producing eco-friendly slipper raw materials that do not compromise their physical and mechanical properties compared to standard systems. We are able to obtain roughly 20% of the polyester polyol used in the production of slippers from PET waste and roughly 17% from bio based raw materials. Since it enables the production of slippers with the first elastic structure made from PET waste, this technology is unique.

2.Graphene-Based Sound Insulation ve HR Foam Systems

The rapid increase in population and thus consumption in recent years brought up the need for new alternatives in production While businesses serve the society with their products, they develop various methods to ensure sustainability by reducing the environmental impacts in product life cycles In particular, the concept of recycling has manifested itself despite the risk of depletion of natural resources. The intent of recycling is to use resources in the most efficient way, to use wastes generated as a result of the production process as input by reintroducing them into the economy, and to prevent them from causing environmental problems.

Our R&D Flexible Team uses graphene obtained from the recycling of automotive tire wastes in order to increase the performance of both KIMflex® Sound Insulation System, which has high mechanical properties and is used for sound insulation in the automotive sector, and KIMflex® HR Foam Systems used in the production of office and automotive seats In this way, sustainable resources succeeded in contributing to both nature and circular economy. We collaborate with Nanografen Co that produces graphene from waste tires Nanografen is the only manufacturer that produces graphene from waste tires in pilot scale with the joint partner of waste tire pyrolysis company. We achieve to integrate graphene at very low loadings in polyurethane systems by providing significant enhancement in insulation properties.

Graphene-Based Sound Insulation System

Light vehicle design has gained major importance in the automotive industry in order to save energy With composite parts used in new
generation vehicles, fuel consumption is reduced by making the vehicle lighter

Hence, it is known that polyurethane systems, with their lightness feature, provide loss of weight in vehicles and create less emissions with less use of energy. Therefore, polyurethane systems are frequently preferred in the automotive industry, from vehicle seat production to sound insulation. Graphene, being defined as the miracle material of recent years, has further strengthened this feature of polyurethane foam Thanks to their lightness, graphene based polyurethane foams increase the performance of sound insulation without affecting the total weight of the car. As a result of studies performed, it has been determined that graphene based sound insulation systems provide up to 65% improvement in sound absorption compared to standard systems.

Graphene-Based High Performance HR Foam Systems

By utilizing graphene, a carbon based recycling material obtained from automotive tires, in the production of HR Foam Systems used in the production of automotive and office seats, We improve the mechanical properties of our products without requiring the use of extra materials, while both preventing material consumption and reducing carbon dioxide emissions in its production. Improvements in the mechanical properties of HR foam systems obtained with the use of graphene compared to standard systems were observed, and the test results are given in Table 2.

3. Bio-Based, Discontinuous Sandwich Panel System

Insulation is a key solution to reducing carbon emissions from buildings, which account for 27% of global emissions.Kimpur has developed KIMrigid® systems formulation for sandwich panels that can help to reduce energy consumption by up to 30%. This is achieved through the use of renewable materials and recyclable components. The formulation is also designed to be lightweight and easy to install, making it a cost-effective solution for improving the energy efficiency of buildings.

Usage Areas:

  • Cold room sandwich panels
  • Cold room doors
  • Refrigerated containers
4. Eco-Friendly KIMrigid® Solar Energy and Boiler System

Kimpur is committed to a sustainable future, continuously improving product lifecycles. We’ve recently expanded our sustainable product portfolio with two new additions: KIMrigid® Solar Energy and Boiler systems, featuring eco-friendly blowing agents.

Our KIMrigid® systems offer superior insulation, ushering energy into the future, while minimizing environmental impact with HFO and water-based blowing agents. With KIMrigid® solar panels, you can heat water using energy from nature and reduce heat loss with the boiler.
