Turkey’s leading polyurethane system house Kimpur has elevated its sustainability performance to the next level, earning the “Gold Medal” from Ecovadis.
Placing sustainability at the core of its strategy, Kimpur advanced its strong performance in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas, moving from the previous Silver Medal level to Gold in the Ecovadis sustainability rating. Last year, Kimpur ranked among the top 13% of companies evaluated worldwide, and this year, the company has advanced to the top 4%.
Ecovadis is one of the world’s most widely recognized sustainability rating platforms, assessing more than 150,000 companies across 185 countries and 250 industries on criteria such as environment, ethics, human rights, and sustainable procurement. By achieving the Gold Medal, Kimpur once again proved its strong commitment to sustainability on a global scale.

Climate-Focused Strategies and Tangible Results
Kimpur identifies climate-related risks and evaluates them through scenario analyses, shaping its action plans under the 2030 Climate Change Roadmap. The company’s environmental performance targets include reducing Scope 1 and 2 emission intensity by 33%, decreasing energy consumption intensity by 22%, and ensuring that 25% of total sales come from sustainable product lines by 2030.
Despite an 8% increase in production volume in 2024, total emissions rose by only 0.5%, while emission intensity per unit decreased by 6%. During the same period, energy consumption intensity fell by 7%, and carbon footprint assessments were completed for 69% of Kimpur’s product portfolio. Additionally, Kimpur’s decarbonization efforts were further strengthened through participation in Eurostars calls, one of which received approval.
Diversity, Inclusion, and Employee Well-being
Strengthening its sustainability approach in the social dimension as well, Kimpur has made significant progress in diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement. Both the female white-collar employee ratio and female representation on the Board of Directors increased to 40%. According to the 2024 Happy Place to Work survey, the company’s employee engagement score rose to 83, marking a 3-point increase from the previous year.
“Sustainability Is Not Just a Goal, but a Responsibility.”
Kimpur CEO Cavidan Karaca shared her thoughts on this achievement, stating:
“The Ecovadis Gold Medal demonstrates that Kimpur’s sustainability approach has evolved beyond being a strategic priority to become a core part of our corporate culture. Moving from the top 13% to the top 4% of companies worldwide reflects our commitment to improving our environmental performance and social impact. For us, sustainability is not just a goal, it is a responsibility we carry for future generations. I would like to thank all our employees and business partners who contributed to this success.”
